Privacy Policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Runnur is made by Runnur Labs. This policy explains what Runnur collects, why, where it goes, and how to delete it. The short version: we collect what you give the app so it can analyse your running, we use it only for that, and we don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or track you across other apps and websites.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, or the identifier Apple gives us when you use Sign in with Apple. If you choose to share it with Apple, your name. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only see the relay address.
- Videos you record or pick. Running clips and single-leg squat clips you upload for analysis, plus still frames and body-position points we compute from them.
- Motion and location during belt recordings. When you record with your phone in a waist belt, the app records accelerometer and gyroscope readings and, if you allow it, GPS position and speed so it can measure pace. Recording continues while the screen is locked until you stop it. We don't collect location at any other time.
- Health and fitness details you enter. Pain and injury reports, how hard a run felt, fatigue, height, weight, leg length, dominant leg, shoes, running surface, goals and notes.
- Technical details. The device model and browser version attached to a recording, and standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) kept for security and troubleshooting.
Camera, microphone, photo library, motion and location access are each requested by your phone the first time a feature needs them, and you can turn any of them off in Settings. Microphone access exists only because iOS records video with sound; we don't analyse audio.
How we use it
- To analyse your running form and show you reports, trends and suggestions.
- To compare each run against your own earlier runs. Your data is never compared with or shown to other people.
- To sign you in, send sign-in codes, and answer support requests.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We don't use your data for advertising, we don't build marketing profiles, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Where it is stored and who processes it
- Our servers. Your account and everything above is stored on servers we rent from Fly.io in the United States, encrypted in transit.
- Our analysis computer. Video frames are processed into body-position points on a computer operated by Runnur Labs. Clips are fetched over an encrypted connection and not kept there after processing.
- Email delivery. Sign-in codes are sent through Mailgun, which receives your email address and the message for that purpose only.
- Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy.
We may disclose information if the law requires it. If Runnur Labs is ever sold or merged, this policy continues to apply to data collected under it, and we'll tell you before anything changes.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data until you delete it. You can delete a single run (with its video and recording) from that run's page. You can delete your whole account from Profile → Account → Delete account; that immediately removes your account, every run, video, belt recording, injury note and profile detail from our servers, and revokes Sign in with Apple. We don't keep backups of deleted data.
Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your data in the app, delete it as described above, and ask us for a copy of it or any question about it by emailing support@heyrunnur.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or move your data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We honour these requests for everyone.
Health information
Runnur is a training tool, not a medical service, so the information you enter is not covered by health-care privacy laws such as HIPAA. We treat it as sensitive anyway: it is used only to give you your own analysis and is never shared for any other purpose. Runnur does not read from or write to Apple Health.
Children
Runnur is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
